Belly Fat at Menopause

by Jane

Visitor Question:

Thank you so much for this website. I have been reading about the high and low glycemic foods, very interesting. I have a question and I am not sure if you have an answer but I will ask anyhow. I have been going through menopause now for 3 years and I have gained a lot of weight and I am so disgusted that I am at my wits end. My doctor says its a normal thing and I do understand this happens but I don't want to be a beach whale in a few years. I was wondering if doing this low glycemic will help me to lose (especially belly fat...UGHHH) I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thank you.

Lifetime Fat Loss Answers:

I'm glad you are finding my website helpful to you so you can lose your belly fat and be healthy. Not only can you lose weight with a low glycemic eating plan and regular exercise, it is the only way you are going to lose weight and actually keep it off!

Once you hit menopause your body is making fewer hormones which you need in order to have balanced metabolism and maintain a healthy weight. If you have been on lots of diets your metabolism will be sluggish anyway and with the loss of hormones the problem becomes much worse. What to do?

Eating lots more healthy fats is important. There's also one phytosterol, natural (made with wild yam) supplement that I recommend that supports your endocrine system making the maximum hormones by providing your glands with extra nutrients. You can order it by calling toll free 855-485-5373.

Oddly enough people who are overweight are often nutritionally deficient. So you do want to optimize your diet to make it easier to lose fat. Do you think you may be eating too many high glycemic foods? When you start shifting over to low glycemic foods and more healthy fats, you will find that you have more energy and you will feel like exercising more.

Also be sure to read Lose Weight Walking to hopefully be motivated to put this simple exercise into your life in a big way! Walking is the healthiest exercise we can do on a regular basis and it's certainly the easiest to fit into a busy life.

I have written about belly fat and more importantly, what you can do about it in 4 different articles. Belly fat is visceral fat that is harder to get rid of but not impossible. I write about it a lot because when you've got it you need extra support. Your hormones are probably out of whack and you need to set fire to your metabolism. Regular walking will help with that.

Getting Rid of Belly Fat explains how you get belly fat and how you can increase your hormones naturally to improve your metabolic balance. Burn Belly Fat gives you information on a natural product that helps you jump start your fat burning. If you've been on lots of diets, this can help you get "unstuck." Foods That Burn Belly Fat and How To Lose Belly Fat tell you what foods to eat that will support fat burning, including a whey protein powder that you can add to your meal replacement shake.

Gaining weight at menopause may be so commonplace it is now considered "normal" but you do NOT have to turn into a "beach whale!" Keep reading the website and get moving! Getting into a low glycemic way of eating and walking will allow you to lose weight permanently - a lifetime of fat loss. Be sure to print out the low glycemic food list so you can get started. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
