Eating Less But Getting Fat During Ovulation
by ANYANWU MONICA ONYINYE
I skip morning food to lose weight, is this good?
Again, during my ovulation time, I tend to consume more food but I check my eating habit and as such I still gain more weight.
Lifetime Fat Loss Answers:
Skipping breakfast is not a good idea as you are "breaking fast" and need to nourish your body for the coming day. Better to eat lightly if you don't experience hunger first thing in the morning and then eat your heaviest meal at midday. If you aren't generally very hungry in the morning try having some fresh fruit with yogurt, chopped walnuts and a heaping tablespoon of flaxseed meal. You will be getting omega 3 fatty acids and protein in the flaxseeds and walnuts, more protein and calcium with the yogurt and some phytochemicals with the fruit. It's a light breakfast with a lot of nourishment.
As far as skipping a meal to lose weight, why don't you juice vegetables for your evening meal and have some plain yogurt with a little fresh fruit and a few raw nuts. You could try one of my juicing recipes and read about losing weight with juicing.
You need the bigger meals early in the day because you will be using energy during the day. In the evening you'll be going to bed so you shouldn't be eating anything heavy past 5:00 p.m.
As far as gaining weight during ovulation, if you are consuming more food and not moving more it makes sense you might gain weight. If you are eating less calories maybe you are retaining water? Try reducing your sodium content by using less salt and see if that helps. Perhaps you need to make sure you are eating low glycemic foods and moving enough too. You need to be physically active to maintain a healthy weight. Most people don't realize how much they need to move! Buy yourself an inexpensive pedometer and get 10,000 steps every day to lose weight and stay at your ideal weight. This will require regular aerobic exercise - 5 - 7 days a week one hour a day!
