Is HBC1 6.1 considered diabetic and is 143 average considered diabetic?

HbA1C is a blood test of the hemoglobin in the blood that provides information on blood sugar levels over a period of at least 8 weeks. My understanding is that the normal range is 4 - 6%. It would be best for you to go to the doctor who ordered this test for you and discuss these results with him or her! Your doctor will have all the information you need to understand what these two numbers mean for you.

And if you haven't already done so eliminating white sugar and high glycemic carbohydrates from your diet is a great first step to managing your blood sugar. Talk to your doctor about a consistent form of aerobic exercise that's best for you too. Regular exercise like walking, swimming, bicycling, dancing, whatever you enjoy doing, is essential for blood sugar control.

If you are pre-diabetic, that is you have type 2 diabetes, then lifestyle changes will help you get it under control.
