Share Your Low Glycemic Recipe!

Do you have a favorite low glycemic recipe that you would like to share with our readers? I would love to hear from you! Make sure that your ingredients are low glycemic and the results are delicious as well as healthy. Go easy on the saturated fats but remember we need some. If you can include the omega 3s all the better. Food tastes better with fat.

For weight control, managing your blood sugar and improving your health, eating low glycemically is essential. This is a nutritious and savory way to eat - fresh ideas are welcome! Sometimes we just need a new idea for substituting the high glycemic foods, like potatoes, rice and corn.

Have you tried using the sprouted grain corn tortillas or sprouted grain whole wheat breads? What about some chilled rice or chilled potato recipes? What about using some of the flours like quinoa, wholewheat, oat bran, barley, rye for baking? Wholewheat flour and fructose can be used for baking bread or cookies with a low glycemic index. You can add seeds and nuts for extra protein to moderate the glycemic index further. Just be sure to eat them in the afternoon beofe your walk or on a special occasion. Limit yourself to 2 cookies.

Do you have a low glycemic recipe?

Tell us how many people your recipe serves and exactly how you make it. Don't forget the oven temperatures and the timing of everything. I may moderate your recipe to a more low glycemic one if necessary. If you know the calorie count that's useful but not required.
